anemone

anemone ii, originally uploaded by hep.

yesterday we also visited the fitzgerald marine reserve where it was cold but beautiful. I took many shots of the anemones, hermit crabs, and other tidepool life. Head there at low tide for some really awesome marine habitat exposure. We also saw the harbor seals at rest, however they did nothing photoworthy other than sleep. I plan on heading back soon for another afternoon there.

thx! i was having a tough job because, since it was a sunny day I had a TON of light reflection that was washing out the depth. I finally had to position people as sort of a living sunshade so I could get the depth clarity I wanted. There is no color correction or enhancement to this image, it really was a fluorescent green anemone.
The anemone is breathtaking. It's surroundings are also very cool, but hard to make out, leaving me focused once again on the anemone.

This is what separates good photographers from the bad.
i hear the seals do photoworthy things if you go up and pet the baby ones. . .
