watertower number 2

watertower number 2, originally uploaded by hep.

i shot this awhile back. it is the alcatraz water tower. water towers are one of my favorite things to shoot, along with trains, powerlines, mushrooms, and cranes. and urban industrial landscapes. i just love machines and steel structures, what can i say.

the above is another redsky at morning image taken a couple years back. this one is so lovely, truly an epic fkn sunrise over the bay. this weekend i am, as always, horrendously overbooked, what with zoe's science fair project due monday, her play practice, the sharks game everyone went to tonite, and everything else that i typically pile on my plate.

so please, as usual, do not get offended or upset if you drop me a line and i don't reply. i check everything, and i always MEAN to get back to people, but i am usually so overwhelmed that if it doesn't immediately make it on my to-do list it will eventually slip my mind. just perhaps drop me another gentle reminder to reply back to you, or just wait until my every 6months cleaning out my inbox binge when i will hopefully catch up. i need a better email and message filing system, i hate leaving stuff unread because i reflexively check my email if any show, but i also have no good way of tagging emails to get back to them later. perhaps i can come up with some sort of folder action item system. i will add that to my to-do list :D

nullcherri and kori found this amazing picture of my modeling twin up above. apparently she is working for american apparel. obviously i must find her and we shall fight to the death, hands tied together, toe to toe with switchblades like in west side story!

your modeling twin freaked me out. my modeling twin is on the cover of a cd, & people i dated didn't realize for full minutes that she wasn't me.

me toooooo

go to bakersfield and photograph the refineries sometime, they are so beautiful
I think she is what you would look like if you ever actually aged.
you would love shooting the big rundown grain silo that was in my old backyard.
also: i'm going to be in the yay next week on thurs for a finnish melodic death metal show. they have an accordion and fiddle, you interested? it's been far too long .

also, this twice misfired from my ctrl+v gun, so i guess i should post this as well.
technically, i do use gmail, but i tend to download my mail to my laptop because i am often not connected to the internet (i take my laptop on location a lot and i don't always have internet access out). i think i might need to find an osx mail client that integrates better with gmail or something like that. my mail setup is somewhat werid tho, because i have a forwarding address that i have had for years, that sends directly to my phone, and bounces a copy to gmail, which is then downloaded to my machine and archived in the gmail archive. so dumb! i can tag things in, but only like, one kind of flag, i need a better way to flag things in multiple catagories. i will def look into gmail labels tho, that is a super good idea and it totally didnt occur to me because i am so used to gmail just being the thruput to my machine.
yeah gmail has a lot of really cool organizing stuff. be sure to check out Gmail Labs, there's a ton of awesome plugins there.
hehe yeah. and the other thing is i am switching to an android phone soon so that will def be better integrated with my phone.
Water towers, trains, power lines, cranes, and urban industrial landscapes: YES

Maybe you and your twin can fight to the death, only the Bizarro version of you will have a goatee, like in that one episode of Star Trek where Spock fought the Evil Spock.
You just have to remember to type the right response in the right e-mail. LOL j/k
I want you to persuade American Apparel to do an ad with you and Modeling Twin. I need to see the two of you side by side for reasons I cannot really spell out at the moment.
i was actually going to try and stage that shoot & poses next week.
urban and rural-industrial photography gives me that melancholy feeling i get whenever i pass by a local store that closed. i wish i had taken it up back in detroit.

sf is an amazing place to photograph though.
This reminds me of the water tower with graffiti in Corner Gas (it is filmed in Canada) your modeling twin is hot.
