for me, it was pretty much a good thing that I had a childhood before I discovered the internet because I probably would have turned out a lot different than I am now. I was 18 before I was exposed to any online stuff because it really didn't exist for regular folks until then. Even then, it was BBSes and that's online enough for me. So, 18 years for me.

I remember being soooo excited when I got an account on a BBS with (gasp!) internet email! That was maybe 1990? Then the summer of 1991 was pretty much spent playing MUDs.
